Facebook creates “app” store for things I hate

So Facebook, newly beaten raw from its IPO, has an app store.  This is pretty much collecting a huge list of everything that has ruined the internet in one way or another and collecting it in one big place.  Repeat offenders include:

  • Angry Birds
  • Zynga games
  • A lot of casino games.
  • Lots of music apps of questionable purpose
  • Groupon
  • Meetup
  • and, of course, “_____ Wars” games.

So basically, Facebook’s answer to a terrible IPO is to list out the many questionable profit mechanisms they operate.  Somehow, I don’t think this will work out well for them.
